Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj has filed a $150m lawsuit against the man accused of hitting her husband in a hit-and-run crash last month which eventually led to his death.
The news of the lawsuit was made known by Benjamin Crump, the attorney representing Carl Maraj.
The accused, Charles Polevich was accused of striking Robert Maraj on February 12 and driving off imediately without calling for help. Nicki Minaj’s father died the following day at the hospital.
Polevich had been arrested on February 17 on charges of leaving the scene of an incident and tampering with physical evidence. But he pleaded not guilty and was freed on bail and with the order not to leave state.
Carol Miraj’s attorney said on instagram that; “Polevich was not only irresponsible and negligent but more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help”.
Polevich’s attorney, Marc Gann of Mineola, on the other hand did not respond to a request for comment.
Carol Maraj told Newsday she was “very, very, very happy” about Polevich’s arrest and said all of Maraj’s children “are pleased” that the alleged culprit was apprehended.
