Manchester United won 2-0 on Sunday evening at Etihad to stop the 21-game winning streak and 28 games unbeaten of neighbours, Man City in all competitions.
Pep Guardiola admits Manchester United’s high press and fast counter-attack caused his team to loss.
“It was a fantastic game. United make incredibly high pressing and they are so fast on the counter,” Guardiola said.
“We played good. Unfortunately we couldn’t be clinical up front, so we congratulate United”, he added.
City’s record of 21 straight wins in all competitions came crashing down at The Etihad, with Gabriel Jesus’ early foul on Anthony Martial allowing Bruno Fernandes to open the scoring from the penalty spot in the first minute.
Luke Shaw added the second in the 64th minute.
