Okonjo Iweala Wins WTO DG

Former Nigeria’s finance minister Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has finally emerged the winner of the highly competitive position of the Director General of the World Trade Organisation.

Information reaching us has it that she polled 104 votes out of the 164 member nations to defeat her closest rival, who is currently the South Korean minister of trade at the final stage.

She has now set the records to become the first black woman of African descent to become the head of the World Trade Organisation.
