Following the recent call by the ruling party, APC to probe some prominent members of the People Democratic Party, PDP, the party has fired back at the APC calling its comment for probe as irresponsible and reckless and demands an apology.

Those so far named in connection with the hushpuppi saga are the former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former Senate president Bukola Saraki, former speaker, house of representatives, Dogara, Senator Dino Melaye, amongst others and linking them to 2019 general election planned rigging.

It would be recalled that during the build up to the 2019 general election, some members of the PDP always converge in Dubai to hold its meeting and to strategise and probably had cause to take a photograph with some Nigerians outside the shores on one occasion or the other, including Hushpuppi who was arrested in Dubai and extradited to the United states, but the PDP had since distanced itself from any of such allegations and criticized the APC led government and the EFCC for doing nothing while the said Hushpuppi was flaunting his wealth, but rather looked the other way till the FBI and Dubai police came after him.

Some members of the PDP including Atiku Abubakar had threatened legal action against the APC and also called for the probe of over 300 billion naira missing fund by government officials, and also advice that the government should concentrate on delivering the dividends of democracy which is lacking with the poor state of infrastructure, massive unemployment and finding solutions to the corona virus pandemic which is fast killing a large number of Nigerians and accused the ruling party of chasing shadows and entering panic mood for fear of imminent loss that awaits it in the forthcoming Edo and Ondo elections.
