After public outcry and complaints by customers over the mandatory fifty naira stamp duty deduction from transactions carried out by customers from both savings and current account, one of Nigeria’s first tier banks ,Access bank has succumb to pressure as it made a public announcement to refund customers of every amount deducted as a result of stamp duty.

It would be recalled that the collection of the fees commenced in February which is applied to both savings and current account and eventually remitted to the Central Bank.

Some customers have expressed their dissatisfaction over the deduction in various social media, and accused other banks also of doing same but only hope other banks will act in the same way and eventually desist from deducting customers account.

The refund which is expected to happen from Monday, 29th June was received with happiness from customers across the country and beyond.
